Nonprofit Capacity Building Program
The Foundation is committed to supporting the capacity building efforts of community non-profit service providers in San Diego and Orange Counties, California. Consonant with the mission of the Foundation, efforts are focused on those service providers that enrich human development. The Foundation has created an organizational development model designed to facilitate the alliance of nonprofit agencies. The objective is to facilitate their efforts to consolidate operations in order to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in achieving their individual missions. This project enables nonprofits that can demonstrate a readiness to cooperate in a meaningful and lasting way, the opportunity to share operating resources and to achieve mutually supportive goals.
The Foundation is currently leading an effort by the Mission Basilica Parish Church, the Parish School and the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano to create a collaborative campus setting that will facilitate the sharing of resources in order to better serve the community of San Juan Capistrano, California. Currently these organizations provide significant spiritual and educational services to the community as well as providing local social services and historic preservation. The Foundation made available a consultant to lead the executives of all three entities through an intensive six-month organizational development process. This process resulted in a business plan that was the basis for the funding of a campus development office by the Foundation. The development office will insure sustainable growth of the Mission San Juan Capistrano Campus as well as help each entity achieve their individual missions. The office will be funded by the
foundation in declining amounts through the end of the third year of the program, at which time the development office will be self-sustaining and the Mission Campus will assume full responsibility for its operations.
Applications for the Nonprofit Capacity Building Program are by invitation only. |
